Defending Victims of Gender-based Violence
During the COVID-19 crisis, The Legal Aid Society is making our city safe for all New Yorkers.
The Exploitation Intervention Project (EIP) advocates for and represents traffficking victims, sex workers, and victims of other forms of gender-based violence.
Even before COVID-19, our clients lived on the margins. Some have low wage jobs and live paycheck to paycheck, and since the pandemic began, these jobs have all but evaporated.
Those we serve are behind in rent, are struggling to feed themselves and many do not qualify for government measures such as unemployment or stimulus checks. For our undocumented clients the situation is perhaps even more dire. Please join EIP in raising money for this vulnerable population.
Together we can provide some comfort in these uncertain times.
